Blue Touch Paper
Making New Collaborations in Contemporary Culture
In partnership with the Jerwood Charitable Foundation, the new phase of the London Sinfonietta’s groundbreaking Blue Touch Paper programme aims to nurture and promote the next generation of composers and inter-disciplinary collaborators, providing participants with the context and space to instigate and develop new work and providing a national platform for its presentation.
The initiative is aimed at composers and creative practitioners in the first phase of their professional careers, who have established their own artistic voice and who are committed to the long-term creative career development that this initiative offers. Collaborators are recruited from a broad range of disciplines and can include (among other professions) choreographers, visual artists, directors, architects, video artists, scientists and writers.
These new commissions will be premiered for preview in Spring 2012.
De Novo Arts is working with the London Sinfonietta to support its digital realisation of the project, filming the processes involved and creating materials and resources which support and expand upon this innovative and unique endeavour. Capturing both the perspective of the artists involved and the evaluation of the process by the organisers, De Novo Arts is helping to record every aspect of the programme and its development.
